Thermax participated in the 14th edition of Green Building Congress 2016- India’s largest conference and exhibition on green buildings and built-environment. Organised by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of CII , the event was held from October 6-8, 2016 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.
Thermax showcased its green, sustainable solutions in heating, cooling and water management which are helping buildings and commercial complexes in India and around the globe go green. The Thermax booth received a good footfall on all three days of the event.
The event witnessed national and international experts and thought leaders who shared their thoughts & perspectives on the theme –‘ Sustainable built environment for all’. It provided an excellent opportunity to learn and share the latest national and international trends and technologies in green buildings and also enabled forging new partnerships.
At the inauguration of the event, Dr Prem C Jain, Chairman, IGBC highlighted that, with several States offering incentives to green building projects, IGBC’s green building rating system has emerged as a National rating. He also emphasized that the IGBC rating system has become National by choice and global in performance and is evoking excellent response from the stakeholders.
According to the recent data on state-wise green buildings released by IGBC, as many as 1,124 green buildings from Maharashtra have been registered with the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), taking the state to the top position in green building footprints in the country. Maharashtra is followed by Tamil Nadu (355), Karnataka (354), Uttar Pradesh (351), Telangana (253), Delhi (197) and Haryana (194).
