Thermax will supply four multi-energy absorption chiller-heaters for the Hudson Yards Development Project in Manhattan, New York.
These multi-energy absorption chillers (model EJ 60A TCU-S) are capable of giving chilled and hot water for the air-conditioning. Each chiller is designed for 664 TR of cooling and 4280 MBH of heating for comfort cooling application. The chillers are driven by exhaust gases + jacket water from a 3.3 MW GE Jenbacher gas engines.
The Hudson Yards Development Project is a joint venture by the New York City Department of City Planning and Metropolitan Transportation Authority to encourage development on Manhattan’s far West Side along the Hudson River in Manhattan, New York. This whopping $ 20 Billion project which is spread across 28 acres is the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States. It’s the largest development in New York City since Rockefeller Center.
It is anticipated that more than 24 million people will visit Hudson Yards every year. The site will include more than 17 million square feet of commercial and residential space, more than 100 shops, a collection of restaurants, approximately 5,000 residences, a unique cultural space, 14 acres of public open space, a 750-seat public school and an Equinox branded luxury hotel with approximately 200 rooms—all offering unparalleled amenities for residents, employees and guests. The development of Hudson Yards will create more than 23,000 construction jobs.
